My Vision Statement My Autobiography People Who Inspire Me Contact Me!
For the latest information on "Blue Nobody's Daughter", a documentary chronicling Candi's life, see the documentary link above.
In 2006, Candi was approached by a woman whose child has a disability. She had just returned from Morocco where she was helping at a school for children with disabilities. She found herself using Candi as an example over and over again. The Moroccan parents and teachers don't know what to do with the children. They feed and bathe them and strap them into carseats and line them up against a wall. They love the kids, but don't believe they are capable of having any kind of life. In March 2007, the group took Candi with them to Morocco to help work with the children. Here are the communication boards she took to them. In February 2006, Candi gave testimony in a Committee Hearing at the State Capital. She read the statement a paragraph at a time in her own voice, then someone read back what she had said. It was very powerful. This page designed by Dana Bremer, Josh Worden, Brayden Fleming, and Candi Yarbrough Copyright(C)2008 |
